Clindamycin (as clindamycin phosphate) 1%, benzoyl peroxide 5%
Indications/Uses
Topical treatment of mild to moderate acne vulgaris, particularly inflammatory lesions, in adult & childn ≥12 yr.

Dosage/Direction for Use
Apply once daily in the evening to the affected areas.

Contraindications
Hypersensitive to clindamycin, lincomycin, benzoyl peroxide.

Special Precautions
Avoid contact w/ mouth, eyes, lips & mucous membranes; abraded or eczematous skin. History of regional enteritis or ulcerative colitis & antibiotic-associated colitis; atopic patients. Discontinue treatment if severe local irritancy occurs. Avoid prolonged exposure to sun. Patients w/ sunburn. May bleach hair & coloured fabrics. Pregnancy & lactation.

Adverse Reactions
Erythema, peeling, dryness, burning sensation.

Drug Interactions
Concomitant topical medication due to cumulative irritant effect. Possible antagonism to the clindamycin component w/ erythromycin-containing products. Clindamycin may enhance action of neuromuscular blocking agents. Avoid concomitant application w/ tretinoin, isotretinoin & tazarotene. Concomitant use w/ sulphonamide-containing products may cause temporary skin & facial hair colour (yellow/orange) change.
